renowned for their electronic dance music, holy ghost! have evolved from a dj duo to a full live band. their self titled debut album is a well crafted gem of disco-tinged pop songs that are equally satisfying on the dancefloor and on your headphones.
after touring last year with lcd soundsystem and chromeo, they are set to tour with cut copy this year to promote their new album. the album features luke jenner from the rapture and michael mcdonald from steely dan and the doobie brothers. that is not a typo. holy ghost! are most known for their remixes of phoenix, cut copy, data rock, van she and mgmt to name just a few. this is the latest offering from the dfa label (canyons, hercules & love affair, lcd soundsystem, hot chip, the juan maclean, panthers, shit robot, yacht, bot'ox etc.) and in my opinion its a fucking good dance record.
the track "jam for jerry" is one of my favourites its a tribute to ex drummer jerry fuchs, who died falling down an elevator shaft. dang. the classic "hold on" also features on the album and should be reason enough to be listening to this. download the album here.
